It started with Antonio Berardi's Fall 2008 collection and is slowly catching on. What is it?

I personally think that heels are called heels for a reason. Not a fan of this new trend. What do you think?

ugh i hateee this trend, people look ridiculous and it must be so hard to walk

definitely hit or miss, i actually like it on the boots, but overall the heel is one of the most elegant parts of a shoe, it's not the same without it.
